Visiting the Venue

Today we went to Edinburgh to have a look at our venue. The two Rorys know it well (Rory McCune spoke there at Scottish Ruby Con in 2013) but I had booked it “sight unseen”. What a fabulous building! The main conference centre is very modern and state of the art – but the speakers I feel a bit jealous of are the ones who get to talk in the Great Hall and New Library.

This was the Great Hall today with us in it – Rory McCune is on the left, me in the middle (in the BSides Edinburgh T-Shirt) and Rory Alsop to the right.

This is the “New Library” – as someone said today – if this is the new one – what is the old one like?

We also have a variety of meeting rooms to suit all sorts of workshops, competitions and informal events – so if anyone is hankering after doing something on the day – please drop us an email – or tweet us @bsidesedi.

Just a reminder as well that the days are ticking down towards the close of the CFP at the end of Feb, so if you want the chance to talk in one of these iconic rooms, plus enjoy a slap up dinner for freesies the night before – make sure not to miss the deadline.
